Since my specialization is in Journalism, I felt it was a good idea to include some of my most recent written work to showcase my writing abilities. The following two essays are from my final portfolio for my English class that I took spring semester of my freshman year (2012).
This first essay is an advertisement analysis essay on a Skyy Vodka advertisement. We were required to choose an advertisement and talk about the different elements of the image and what messages the companies were trying to convey.

The second essay is an argument analysis essay where we were supposed to read an argumentative essay and write about the effectiveness of the author's arguement. Also, we were required to respond with our own feelings about the topic in a "letter to the editor" style of letter, which can also be seen attached.
